OIG TRANSFERS SUNNY SHEU CASE TO NYPD INTERNAL AFFAIRS

The OIG states:: "We have completed our preliminary [11-month] investigation"

BUT:

According to the IAB:
"It looks like the the OIG did no investigation... the only thing we got from them was a copy of your [MAY 12, 2104] complaint".

According to the DOI:
"The [OIG] did not make any substantiated findings regarding your complaints"

The OIG wrote:

"To the degree that the information you have provided relates to systemic policing issues and the operations, policies and programs of the NYPD we will keep this information on record...."

The "information relating to systemic policing" issues include the decision by Commissioners Kelly and Bratton to NOT investigate the death of Sunny Sheu, and it includes the hijacking of the Sunny Sheu investigation by an entire unit of the NYPD, namely the NYPD/DOI Squad.

The job of the OIG is to investigate and prosecute systemic issues the NYPD, not to "keep information on record.
